About me
Lydia is a light soprano and educator based in the North West of the UK where she studied at the Royal Northern College of Music and graduated with a First Class BMus Hons degree in Vocal and Opera studies. In 2021 she completed the Genesis Sixteen and Voces8 Scholars programmes and has since worked as a freelance creative. In March 2022 Lydia joined Voces8’s team of educators with whom she now delivers music projects for young people in the UK and France. Lydia is also a Choral Scholar at SMITF's HeartEdge Manchester and was one of the eight young artists invited to be part of the Southwell Music Festival in 2022. Lydia is proud to be a founding member of the 8 part A Cappella ensemble The Apex Singers. Their début album 'Hiraeth' won two CARA s (Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards) in 2021 and was named 'Album of the Week' on Scala Radio.
Having grown up abroad, Lydia is bilingual and has enjoyed using her French and Norwegian to offer language coaching. Lydia's attention to detail also lends itself to illustration and motion graphics which she enjoys in her free time.
