In March 2020 The Apex Singers successfully crowdfunded the creation and release of their début album ‘Hiraeth’, which received two CARA s (Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards) for Best Folk/World Album and Best Classical/Traditional Song (Solrenning Sæle). Following it's release 'Hiraeth' was chosen as Simon Mayo’s ‘Album of the Week’ on Scala Radio and selected as one of presenters Jack Pepper & Angelica Bell’s top three albums of 2020. The album brings together fresh arrangements of folk-tunes from different cultures representing every continent, from an African lullaby, to a vocalised Irish jig.

On 30th September 2022, The Apex Singers released their second studio album, Stravaig. The Scottish verb which means to wander aimlessly relates to the album’s fresh arrangements of Scottish, Irish, American and English folk songs arranged for the group over lockdown. The Apex Singers held a crowdfunding campaign to support the creation of Stravaig, their first simultaneously tracked studio album.​

Their music video for 'Wild Mountain Thyme' won an A Cappella Video Award for Best Live Video in 2023.
